“Eve possesses a bottomless well of longing. Jesus alone is the never ending fount, which can slay her thirst”-captivating pg. 183
Such a great chapter we read tonight. As women we have the opportunity to partner with God by bringing forth life in another, inviting others to become who God designed them to be, offering our hearts and “being the face of God to one another-the...

“see to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of this world, and not according to Christ.”

whoa. those moments when you have something heavy on your heart and He gives you the perfect verse from His word.
the message version broke it down wonderfully.

What an awesome reminder. He didn’t die so we could fix ourselves. Oh how i often forget this.
thoughts today.
am i living my life right? what’s my life going to look like later on? who will i marry? what job(s) will i have? will i lead yl? will i live to be 90?
“when i lay these questions before God, i get no answer. But rather a special sort of ‘no answer’. it is not the locked door. it is more like a silent, certainly not uncompassionate gaze. as though He shook His head not in...
Great quote from one of my teachers,
“This Lent, I pray that evangelicals begin to see that beauty comes from ashes, that there is no resurrection Sunday without the death and suffering of Friday. I pray that we can imitate Jesus and stop pretending that Christians do not doubt, do not suffer, and do not feel burdened by the death and decay that surrounds us.”

indescribable.
want to dedicate my life to always growing in the Lord.
an issue with this came up lately though. i’ve been learning things in old testament that have completely challenged me and even defeated me. I didnt pray for a week or so because every time i tried i was just thinking hiiiii who even are you?
the one who cant be put in a box that i comfortably create.

a short viewpoint on abortion for my lifespan development class. check out this quote that i’m putting in my intro.
“If the unborn child is not a human, no reason [for abortion] is necessary. If the unborn child is a human, no reason is adequate.”

Although most of us would not put it in these terms, we all feel frustrated when God does not fulfill our emotional desires. Taking a step back, however, I realize this complaint (a very common one) trivializes Christ’s lordship and makes Him seem more like a romantic companion who must return all of our phone calls than the God of our lives.
vent.
whether i’d like to admit it or not, i constantly look for fulfillment in places other than Jesus.
often, i run from the one and only who has the power to free me.
realized so much lately how much freedom there is in honesty and asking from Him.
“and because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba,...
Now that i’ve filled my weekend with everything other than homework, the main thing i was supposed to do, it’s about that time.
Lonelily is a great song ps. by damien rice. loved the acoustic tune so much that i didn’t even realize it was about both people in the relationship cheating on each other, sad/messed up, but i still like listening to the song.

Gospel.
Little part of a sermon I just watched.
“Dedicate yourself to knowing and loving the gospel more than anything else in life and what will come out of your heart every time you’re talking about any issue is the gospel.
The gospel of Jesus Christ.
Let us not tolerate any other idols, success, marriage, education, nothing else comes above you. For its good, but it’s not that...

Blessed assurance.
Whoa. Great thought.
“My feelings are not God. God is God. My feelings do not define truth. God’s word defines truth. My feelings are echoes and responses to what my mind perceives. And sometimes - many times - my feelings are out of sync with the truth. When that happens - and it happens every day in some measure - I try not to bend the truth to justify my imperfect feelings, but rather, I plead with God:...
Train of thought.
My friend SheaLyn and I went to Lola Coffee today to catch up and do some homework.
Typical girls we discussed if there is “anyone new” in our lives. This led to her talking about this man of God that wrote something great on his blog, I read it, loved it and wanted to share it.
“Our goal is to not be like our father, Adam, but rather more like Jesus. There is no “try” for us. ...
On that note.
I got a surprise yesterday. One of my best, most clever/punny friends, kyle brought me a fish and a great note!! So thoughtful and made my day. Currently debating what to name my new bright turquoise colored friend.
“You do not have to be other than what i created you: human. You are only obligated to do that for which I created you: glorify Me. Stand back! Let God be God. Let man be man. Once you accept your limitations and settle the fact once and for all that I will never ask you to perform Herculean feats, you can begin to learn what I really have in mind for you.”

Oh Eve.
While studying last night I came across this in my Old Testament textbook…
“Woman was unable to let her reason rule over her emotions. When she realized the desirability of the tree, she partook of it, sharing it with her husband, who ate with her.”
Letting our reason rule over emotions isn’t anything new us women have to focus on, it dates back to the fall! This is a...
Old Testament.
Love my Old Testament class.
I really do like when my teacher says to us sarcastically, “…well, that’s a good Christian answer”..and encourages us to think deeply for ourselves rather than parrot off what we’ve learned our whole lives.
I learn more from the little tangents/rants he goes off on I think then the actual history he teaches.
I’ve scribbled little...

Sometimes, I envision my perfect life. I paint this vivid picture in my head of what my life would look like if everything in it was ideal, if everything in it was perfect (or as close to perfection as possible). For most of us, our ideal life, involves us being prettier, probably smarter, maybe…
Beautifully expressed!
Being passive and being patient are completely different but often mistaken as the same thing.
It’s easy and tempting to convince ourselves that we don’t need Jesus Christ....

SO true.
Home.
Can I just be a stay at home wife/mom and an interior decorator on the side?
And have a cute little cottage like house and drink tea and go to work out class and wear blush and make delicious meals and have a family and cute pets that don’t poop?
and then Gia reminds me life isn’t about us. But that sounds so cute and ideal!
