Oh hi,

Old Testament.

Love my Old Testament class.

I really do like when my teacher says to us sarcastically, “…well, that’s a good Christian answer”..and encourages us to think deeply for ourselves rather than parrot off what we’ve learned our whole lives.

I learn more from the little tangents/rants he goes off on I think then the actual history he teaches.

I’ve scribbled little bits around the edges of my notes..things like:

God doesn’t neccessarily take away our pain, He enters into it.

Christianity shouldn’t be lectured about, Jesus wants disciples that act out in faith.

We are valuable and important to Him, He relentlessly pursues us.

Scripture was written for us, but not to us.

I’ll end with this..He once prayed something simple yet beautiful: let our lives reflect the risky God that is found in the scriptures, not the God we think is here to make us comfortable.
